About Jorrit van der Kooi

Jorrit was born in the Netherlands, he has a BA in Journalism and started working for local radiostations as a presenter and journalist at the age of 19, a year later he started writing for local newspapers and he started experimenting with making videos. His first break in Europe came while he was still studying. At the age of 23 AVRO TV, a national network, hired Jorrit to make a short documentary, other projects soon followed. At age 20 Jorrit set foot in Hollywood where he wrote and produced the 35 mm movie Julius in 1995.
Since then Jorrit is dividing his career between the US and Europe.
Jorrit published a novel "De Vloeivelden" in 1997.

He directed prime time TV programs such as Verhuisbericht (RTL4), Stay or Go (SBS6), Ik mis je (EO), just to name a few.

He presented several TV shows for national TV in the Netherlands which he also directed: Rodeo Drive (Yorin) and Bij Mij Thuis (RTL4). He was also a co-host in 2006/2007 for the longest running car show in the Netherlands: RTL autowereld (RTL4). In 2009 he hosted "Het Gesprek uit de Regio..." for the national Dutch "talk TV" station "Het Gesprek". In 2011 he was co-host for the succesful TV series  Ranking the Cars on Veronica.
